Opening Reception and Dinner
Sunday, April 6, 2025

Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM) hosted the APEE 49th Meeting Opening Reception and Dinner. The program presentation of the 2025 Thomas Jefferson Award to Dora de Ampuero, Founder and lifelong President of Instituto Ecuatoriano de Economía Política (IEEP). APEE recognized Dora for her work as an academic and activist, work that was crucial for important changes in economic policy in Ecuador, such as the dollarization process that would be fundamental for the exit from one of the most serious banking crises in the history of the South American country.

APEE also presented its 2025 Herman W. Lay Memorial Award to DeVoe L. Moore. APEE recognized DeVoe for his entrepreneurial success and commitment to private enterprise education through his longstanding philanthropy at Florida State University, particularly to the DeVoe L. Moore Center.
